Are you an experienced AV professional looking to take ownership of technical event delivery within a prestigious 5-star London venue?

We’re working with a leading global event technology and production business to recruit an AV Technical Events Manager. This is a varied, hands-on role combining technical event delivery, client management, team leadership and commercial responsibility across everything from smaller corporate meetings through to large-scale live productions.

You’ll be based within a premium London venue, working closely with clients, venue teams and technical specialists to ensure events are planned and delivered to an exceptional standard.

The Role

As AV Technical Events Manager, you’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day technical and commercial operation of events within the venue. You’ll be involved from the initial client conversation and technical planning stages through to on-site delivery, while also identifying opportunities to grow existing accounts and generate repeat business.

Key responsibilities include:

• Manage the planning and technical delivery of AV requirements across meetings, conferences and large-scale live events.
• Act as the main day-to-day contact for clients, understanding their requirements and translating them into effective technical solutions.
• Work alongside technical teams to prepare, rig, operate and de-rig AV equipment as required.
• Lead and coordinate on-site technicians, effectively managing workloads, shifts and technical responsibilities.
• Develop technical concepts, room setups and standard event designs to help clients visualise production possibilities.
• Prepare quotations and contribute to the pre-production and tender process for larger events.
• Identify opportunities to enhance events through additional AV, production, video and technical services.
• Build strong relationships with venue sales, banqueting, front-of-house and operational teams.
• Develop long-term client relationships, encouraging repeat business and converting one-off events into established accounts.
• Monitor upcoming events and proactively engage with clients to discuss technical requirements and production opportunities.
• Manage equipment and crew requirements while ensuring resources are used effectively and projects remain within budget.
• Coordinate with wider production and operational teams to secure additional technical support when required.
• Maintain accurate reporting around quotations, equipment movements, event requirements and revenue.
• Gather post-event feedback and continually identify opportunities to improve service and event delivery.

About You

You’ll bring a strong background in AV and live events, with the technical knowledge and confidence to oversee event delivery within a busy venue environment.

You’ll ideally have:

• Strong hands-on knowledge of professional AV and live event production.
• Experience managing or coordinating technical teams.
• Confidence working directly with corporate clients and managing event requirements.
• A strong understanding of event setup, rigging and de-rigging processes.
• The ability to translate client briefs into practical technical solutions.
• Strong commercial awareness, with experience identifying opportunities to grow client accounts and event revenue.
• Excellent organisation and communication skills.
• Experience within hotels, hospitality or venue-based events would be advantageous.
